I'm Richard van den Broek, owner of the Outside Concepts Sydney West franchise. I gained my project management skills in the manufacturing industry and formalised them with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Macquarie Uni).

I'm a qualified and fully licensed builder myself, so not only will I be managing and organising your building project, but I'll also be the guy with the hammer and saw onsite, making sure your pergola, deck or carport is built according to plan. I run a team of contractors and my apprentice Nathan, shows natural talent and is the kind of person who will go out of his way to please our clients.

In 2011 I was awarded the GreenSmart Professional accreditation which means I can advise you on the most sustainable way of building your project. I have strong networks within the industry so am able to offer well-priced materials helping to keep your price down.

My projects tend to involve a lot of bushfire zoned construction so I specialise in steel-framed, tiled decks which is the perfect alternative to a hardwood deck in areas rated as Flame zone or Bal 40. I also build significant numbers of elevated covered patios to maximise the great views in some suburbs of the Mountains.

I'm eligible to provide Home Warranty Insurance which is a legal requirement for projects costing over $20,000.

I service the Blue Mountains area from Emu Plains all the way up to Leura, Katoomba and through to Blackheath. I have completed projects in Megalong Valley and out towards Kurrajong.
